Iranian state media reported that U.S. forces carried out a small-scale operation against Qeshm Island on Monday, Nov. 2.

The report described the action as a renewed U.S. attack on Iran.

The operation took place on the eve of the U.S. midterm elections.

The elections were to determine new members of Congress.
